Penelope ★★★★★

I hadn't painted since grade school, but the step-by-step instructions walked me through the croissant illustration without a single panic moment. Ten designs feels like plenty to work through, and the 44 pages give you room to mess up and try again.

Stella ★★★★★

The lay-flat pages are what sold me — no more fighting with a book that keeps snapping shut while I'm painting. I've finished three of the ten illustrations already, and the step-by-step instructions make it easy to follow along.

Violet ★★★★☆

The lay-flat pages are what sold me — no fighting to hold the book open while the wash dries. Only gripe is that ten illustrations go by fast, so I'm already hoping for a second volume.
