I was nervous about the texture, but the hand-thrown clay feels surprisingly smooth and sturdy on the shelf. The natural dark finish from the smoke firing adds exactly the right amount of character to my living room.
The smoke-fired finish gives it such a deep, organic black that changes slightly in different light—exactly the rustic look I was hoping for.
