The checkered pattern is what caught my eye first — it looks exactly like the tile floor in an old European chateau, which is apparently the whole point. Four coasters feels like the right number for a coffee table, and they've handled hot mugs without leaving a single ring.
The weight of the marble is what sold me — no sliding around when I set a sweating glass down. The checkered pattern is subtle enough that they don't clash with my other bar stuff, and four is the right count for a small gathering.
The checkered pattern is way prettier in person than I expected, and each coaster has a nice weight so they don't slide around when I set my coffee down. Four of them cover my whole coffee table and the marble wipes clean with one swipe.
